Welcome to my random thoughts diary. Here I dish about philosophy, life, people, and myself. I'll talk about pretty much anything BUT politics here, so have a look and hopefully you'll leave here with something to think about.

It's been a good day

Mood: Happy
Music: Reel Big Fish

It has been a good day.

I know that I said I'd avoid politics on this blog since I deal with politics most of the day and you can read my views on political and social issues on my website and in my column for The Daily Beacon. So I'm going to stick to that conviction, but it just so happens that my political writings are the cause of my good mood.

I'm used to getting responses from readers, and usually its pretty mixed; people agree and disagree and its good discussion (well, except for the ones that are random strings of cursing), but in the last 24 hours Ive received nearly two dozen e-mails from readers just wanting to thank me for my latest column. I've never had such an overhwelming positive response. I should warn you that you're all making a huge mistake, because the last thing I need is a bigger ego lol.

Na I'm just kidding. But it really makes me feel good to go out on a limb and put my views on the world on display for everyone else to read and for complete strangers to take the time to write me and thank me for my work.
Though it was in response to my previous column on religion's role in America, one of the best days I've had in recent memory was when someone I didn't even know went out of his way to come up to me on the street and shake my hand saying "I just had to come over here and thank you for what you said in the paper yesterday."

So this is my official "Thank You" to all the readers out there. Your comments are not falling on deaf ears.
