Welcome to my random thoughts diary. Here I dish about philosophy, life, people, and myself. I'll talk about pretty much anything BUT politics here, so have a look and hopefully you'll leave here with something to think about.

Virtue

Location: Class

Would you consider virtue to be a good thing?

Of course, most of us would. Virtue is almost always portrayed as a positve personality trait. Now, here comes the hard part.

Define Virtue.

It's hard isn't it? I never really thought about it. Virtue is an abstract that realy has no definite meaning, yet it is an admirable trait that everyone agrees is typical of a person with good character.

How is this possible?

For me, virtue is not needing a reason to help others. The virtuous path is merely giving of oneself without expectation; fighting for the rights of others even if you are not one of those affected; helping someone merely because you have the capacity to do so.

In other words, your angry protester, your straight supporter of gay rights, your university professor, your volunteers at a homeless shelter, etc., these are among the most virtuous people on the planet.

Ironic, eh?

Exhausted

Mood: see title
TV show on in the background: The Daily Show

25 Hours...

That's how many credits I'm taking this semester. 25 Hours...

It's exhausting, it really is. And it's not that the work is overwhelming or anyhting. Hell, 4 of em are PE classes, and 3 of em are pass/fail.

But damn, I've never spent more time in class in my life. Its just weird not having that break in the middle of the day or getting to knock off early.

At least it's not really killing me too badly. I still feel refreshed after the weekend and I'm getting my work done etc., so it's not so bad.
